Chandigarh (Pitamber Sharma) : Punjab Government today granted permission for reporting/joining of doctors in state Medical/Dental Colleges selected through the NEET PG counselling conducted by the union health ministry as well as holding of entrance exam for Post Graduate/Under Graduate courses by Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India has informed the state regarding this selection process and joining/reporting by the doctors in state medical institutions.
He added that the union home ministry has already allowed the conduct of board examinations for classes 10th and 12th. Keeping in view Punjab government has granted permission for joining of doctors selected through NEET PG counselling-2020 by the Director General of Health Services in allocated Medical/Dental colleges on 15th June 2020. In addition to this, state has also allowed PGIMER, Chandigarh to hold entrance test for Post Graduate/Under Graduate courses between 14th June 2020 to 26th June 2020 considering it as essential activities.
The spokesperson further informed that local authorities would extend requisite administrative facilitation and security services for both the above events besides ensuring proper seating arrangements with adequate social-distancing and undertaking of hygiene and sanitation measures while extending all help for smooth conduct of entrance test by PGIMER at various examination centres in the State.
